Cup-hilt rapier with dark oxidised bowl guard

Price on request

A cup-hilt rapier with a large hemispherical bowl guard finished in a heavily oxidised near-black surface, contrasting with a bright polished steel rim and wire knuckle bow visible in the comparison photograph. The grip is wooden with twisted or spiral-wrapped ribbing in a tan/brown tone. The blade is slender and triangular in cross-section, tapering to a fine point. The interior of the cup shows concentric circular tooling or decoration beneath heavy oxidation and surface corrosion; the pommel end terminates in a small loop or ring. Significant surface oxidation and pitting are visible across the entire bowl face.

Condition
Poor to fair — heavy oxidation and surface pitting across the entire bowl guard; grip shows wear but is intact; blade appears straight with no visible breaks.
