Black ink sketch-style print on cream/off-white paper depicting a uniformed Marine in period dress: shako cap with plume, epaulettes, crossbelt, and carrying a musket at the trail. The date '1848' is printed in bold serif numerals at the bottom. A small artist's monogram and the Marine Corps Eagle, Globe, and Anchor emblem are visible in the lower right of the image. Housed in a flat black rectangular frame with protective glazing; white corner protectors are present on the frame.
